  Planet Pulse
Planet Pulse are an exciting consumer research community dedicated to providing international and UK residents with a wide selection of paid surveys relating to new product and services developments. This site will appeal to those who like to hear about new products and services before they reach the general market and members are regularly invited to take part in online paid surveys which examine every aspect from design, functionality and marketing to how a product is packaged and whether it would appeal to you as a consumer. Your views and opinions will directly influence how new products and services are presented, delivered and priced to the general public.

Typically you should expect to spend between 15-25 minutes taking part in paid surveys offered by Planet Pulse, although 20 minutes seems to be an average length. You are notified of new studies via email and the length and reward are clearly marked prior to you taking part, leaving you free to choose whether or not to participate. For each completed survey you receive a number of points (called Pulses) which will range between 100 and 500 points and these are directly related to the level of commitment required from you in completing the paid survey. Planet Pulse uses a points system because of the global membership it has but all payments are made in US Dollars via Pay Pal, which will convert your money into GBP quickly and easily. 1 US Dollar is equal to 100 Pulses (points) which is approximately 50p. As soon as you generate a minimum of 2,500 points ($25) or (£12.50) you can withdraw your earnings via Pay Pal. This is quite a low payment threshold for a paid survey site with the average payment threshold being around £20.00. This basically means that you can access your earnings more quickly.

Toluna is a hybrid between a traditional paid survey site in which you provide your opinions on paid surveys and a social networking community where you can interact with other Toluna members, start discussion threads and get feedback on information important to you.

Toluna members are typically rewarded with between 1,000 and 20,000 points per paid survey they complete depending upon the level of input required.  NPD Online Research
NPD are an international consumer research organisation that provide paid survey opportunities to participants across the world including in the UK. UK residents aged 13 and over are eligible to join the NPD, however parental consent needs to be sought by those under the age of 16. NPD has an excellent family centered approach and parents will be pleased to find a dedicated child orientated policy which explains clearly how they collect and use information gathered on those under 16 and the site security policy. NPD are clearly keen to make the site as safe and as teen friendly as possible.

Typically paid surveys available through NPD last anywhere between 10 and 45 minutes in length, but the site average is approximately 25 minutes. You should expect to receive higher payment for paid surveys which are longer in length or which have more complex issues involved.

There is a comprehensive reward based system available through NPD but sadly at the moment this is only available to US citizens. However the good news is that UK residents are able to take part in the lucrative and frequent prize draws that take place on the site, on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis. There are cash prizes up for grabs and members could win $100 (£50), $250 (£125), $500 (£250) and $1000 (£500). All amounts in GBP are approximate and may increase or decrease slightly depending upon the exchange rate at the time. Our personal view is that this is one of the most frequent prize draws available through a paid survey site and all results are published on the site for members to view. Members earn entries by simply completing paid surveys, the more you complete the more entries you earn.

 Zoom Panel
Zoom Panel is a popular site that provides paid survey opportunities primarily onbehalf of large multinational organisations including Proter and Gamble, Microsoft, MacDonalds to name just a few. Zoom Panel provide varied and interesting paid surveys covering all types of consumer related products and services from packaging and presentation to product taste tests. Members can participate through online paid surveys, focus groups, home tests and brand new mobile phone surveys, which are great if your waiting around for friends or between meetings and want something constructive to do.

Zoom Panel will typically provide paid surveys worth between 25 and 150 points in value providing that you complete the paid survey in full, when you receive the invite. Our experience is that you should expect to put aside between 10 and 35 minutes per paid survey, although 25 minutes appears to be an average timescale. The rewards for each paid survey are clearly stated on the invite and like any other paid survey site, the more you complete the more likely you are to receive more specific and lucrative paid surveys in the future.

You can monitor your points from your personal account profile and also trade in your points for an excellent range of rewards, which we happen to think is one of the best reward schemes of its type on the net. The choice is superb and the rewards programme is staggered meaning that you can start collecting rewards from 1,000 points right the way up to 10,000. At the lower end you can redeem your points for books and electrical items right the way up digital cameras! Firstly you earn one entry just for registering on the site. You can receive further entries each and every time you complete a paid survey or refer a friend who signs up with the site!

There is also a smaller and equally regular lotto in which members who complete paid surveys can earn either $50 (Australian Dollars) or £23 cash or a gift certificate to the same value.

 One Poll
If you like to take paid surveys instantly rather than waiting for them to be sent to your email box, then One Poll could be just the paid survey site you have been looking for. It works with some big name clients like Boots, Churchill Insurance, Nivea, Toni &Guy, Heinz, Toys R Us and many more. The great thing about One Poll is that all of their paid surveys are publicly available to view on the site, all you do is create an account and then log in and apply for a paid survey that suits your needs.

There are paid surveys for parents, TV and Film Buffs, Newly married couples, business travellers and professionals, stay at home moms and lots more. These paid surveys change all the time but you can quickly and easily log in and sign up!

Each time you complete a given paid survey you are rewarded with money ranging from 10p for really short surveys to £25 for more complex and detailed surveys. Once you accumulate £40 in your online account you will be sent a cheque with your earnings.

In addition you can take part in competition surveys where you can win prizes from £100 to a few thousand in value or even cash!

Any unusual and interesting way you can also earn money on the one poll website is by being identified as a case study. Basically, every time to respond to an online paid survey your details and information are collated and used in market research. You may provide some information that one poll think is interesting enough to run a pres advert on or has special value to their clients for promotional purposes. In this instance you can get paid a few hundred pounds for taking part in a brief telephone interview in which you discuss this information further. Some of the information that has previously been used in press adverts relates to the cost of student degrees, a house that sold in 60 seconds and the perfect size 12. Of course there is no way of knowing with any certainty which information will be directly relevant but it pays just to take part in the site for the chance to feature in a promotional article and get paid for it!!!

 My Voice
My Voice offers a variety of paid surveys and opinion polls of both short and long duration to individuals over the age of 18 and resident in the UK. They provide an excellent reward scheme in which members earn points every time they complete a paid survey, which can then be converted into high street vouchers.

The shorter “Express Surveys” take between 4 and 5 minutes to complete and offer anywhere between 20 and 50 points per completed paid survey, which compared with other paid survey providers is quite a generous return. My Voice refers to their long paid surveys as “Research Questionnaires“, these are typically around 20 minutes in length and will range from 50-150 points in value, although some are even higher. The payment threshold is about average, with members needing to accumulate 2,000 points to redeem these for a £20.00 high street voucher. This means that every point is worth 1p. My Voice has an extensive range of UK retailers and online stores at which your vouchers can be redeemed including, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s M&S, Boots, Dixons, Virgin, Next and many more.

In addition to direct payment for surveys which you complete you also get entered into the monthly prize draw, each time you complete a survey or opinion poll with a grand prize of £1,000. This means that if you complete five paid surveys you get five separate entries, which is as really good ratio, as some paid survey sites only allow you one entry per month.

My Voice has a really good interactive members area and an excellent FAQ section to answer most of your questions. Personally we think that they offer one of the best rewards to time ratio’s for a paid survey site, so don’t be put off by the fact that they don’t yet offer cash as well as vouchers. It's also refreshing to see a paid survey site offering good rewards for shorter surveys, as not everyone has hours to spend filling out research questionnaires.
